Privacy policy
The short version: FuelWide has no user accounts and sells nothing — the site is funded by advertising served by Google AdSense. We collect no personal data ourselves beyond a contact-form message if you send one, plus aggregate visit counts via Google Analytics; the sections below explain exactly what Google may process and how you stay in control. Last updated 21 July 2026.
What we collect ourselves
Nothing, for browsing. Every page, calculator and map works without an account, an email address or any personal details. We never ask who you are.
Aggregate audience measurement. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful — page URL, referrer, approximate (city-level) location, device and browser. It tells us how many people read a page, never who they are: we do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we never upload personal data to it. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland no analytics cookie is set unless you accept in the consent banner; decline and measurement stays anonymous and cookieless. See the cookie policy for the exact cookies.
The contact form, if you use it. When you send us a message we receive the name, email address, topic and message text you typed. It is delivered to our inbox as an email (via Resend, our email delivery provider) and used only to reply to you. It is never added to a mailing list, shared or sold. Ask us to delete a past message at any time and we will.
Standard server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps short-lived technical logs — IP address, requested page, browser type — like virtually every website. We use them only for security (rate-limiting the contact form and API against abuse) and debugging; they expire automatically and we build no profiles from them.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
FuelWide is free because it shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its certified ad partners act as third parties on this site and may use cookies and similar technologies (see the cookie policy) to serve ads, measure their performance, cap how often you see the same ad, and prevent fraud.
Personalised vs non-personalised ads. Depending on your choices and region, Google may use cookies to show ads based on your interests and prior visits to this and other websites, or purely contextual, non-personalised ads. How Google uses data from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Consent. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, a consent banner asks for your permission before any advertising cookies are set. You can decline (you'll see non-personalised ads), and change or withdraw your choice at any time via the banner's settings link in the footer.
Your controls. Manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com, opt out of many ad partners at aboutads.info/choices (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe), and block cookies entirely in your browser — the site keeps working either way.
We never pass Google your name, email address or anything you type into our contact form — FuelWide has no such data about you to pass.
What stays on your device
Your theme choice, preferred display currency and a 24-hour cache of station-map search results live entirely in your browser's local storage. They are never transmitted to us and clearing your browser data removes them. Full list in the cookie policy.
Third-party services
Advertising: Google AdSense (Google privacy policy).
Analytics: Google Analytics, for aggregate visit counts only (Google privacy policy).
Hosting: Vercel (privacy policy), which sees the same technical request data any web host does.
Email delivery: contact-form messages are delivered through Resend (privacy policy).
Maps: map pages load tiles and station data directly from OpenStreetMap-based providers; like any direct web request, those providers see your IP address. These requests happen only on map pages.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA and similar laws you can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to processing, and withdraw consent for advertising cookies at any time (via the consent banner). In practice the only personal data FuelWide itself could hold is a contact-form email you sent us; for data processed by Google as an advertising provider, the Google links above are the direct controls. To exercise any right with us, write via the contact page — we respond promptly.
Children
FuelWide is a general-audience site about fuel prices and is not directed at children under 16. We knowingly collect no data from anyone — including children.
Changes to this policy
If we change what data is processed — for example adding an analytics tool or a new ad partner — we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change ships.
